Hello and welcome to The Curious Marketer,
If you haven’t already please pop in and introduce yourself here. As I build this small community of female founders, solopreneurs and entrepreneurs. My hope is to create a space where we can learn, grow and share some of the challenges of going it alone.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve most likely just realised this week is the end of June. If you’re in the northern hemisphere the summer solstice has past and from here on out the days get shorter, not longer. You may be gearing up for summer holidays and leaning back slightly or you might be looking back on the goals you set at the beginning of the year and thinking about what you want for the coming months.
If you’re from a corporate background you’ll be no stranger to the mid year review. But unlike sitting in a windowless room reviewing an excel spreadsheet of KPIs, as a business owner you can be more creative and kind when it comes to reviewing and resetting.
This week I’m sharing some journaling prompts that might help. So find a spot in the corner of the garden or your favourite café and get curious about what you’d like to focus on for the rest of the year. Then go into whatever the summer brings knowing you’re ready to get back into it on your return.
Start by reflecting on the last 6 months
What went well – maybe you had a blog post that took off or a social post that connected
What have you learnt – is there a channel or a format that works better for you?
How do you want to feel moving into the next 6 months
Is the second half of the year important for your business?
What do you need to put in place to help you feel that way – do you need to outsource or get some expert advice?
How do your ideal clients and customers want to feel?
What’s going on for them right now?
How can you help them feel how they want to feel?
What’s happening around you
Are there any new trends or insights that might impact your industry or customers?
What are your competitors up to? What can you learn?
Thinking about these questions and maybe sitting with them for a while before planning the second half of the can help you make any small pivots and help you connect with your clients and customers.
You can find more guidance on reflecting and resetting here.
If you’d like to, feel free to share something that went well for you. Maybe it might just help someone else.
